Lifta Typeface 2020

Lifta is an Arabic, Bold, protest typeface for display, available in two styles: Black & Stencil. It is meant to serve the designers and audience, who wish to convey their protesting voice in Arabic through signs, protest posters and graffiti, as well as any other protesting needs, regardless of being printed or digital.
Lifta supports the Arabic language and has proportional and tabular numerals. It was inspired by the handwritten titles of Palestinian revolutionary posters before 2000s.

Lifta was selected by the judges at TDC to receive “Certificate of Typographic Excellence” in Type Design category, (2021).

It was named after the Palestinian village Lifta, that was ethnically cleansed in the 1948 occupation, and it protests the erasure of Palestinian identity and the subjugation of their rights as they live under occupation.

Lifta Typeface is dedicated to all Arab refugees around the world.
